PostNord and Uudenmaan Pikakuljetus Merge

Press Release 24th February 2016

PostNord’s subsidiary, Uudenmaan Pikakuljetus Ltd, is merging with PostNord Oy on 29 February 2016. Along with the merger, all UPK’s services will be provided under the PostNord brand in Finland.

“It’s the strategy of the PostNord Group to be a single, uniform PostNord where ever we’re operating,” says Jari Rinnekoski, CEO of PostNord Oy. “Along with the merger, our customers will be getting logistics services of better quality and comprehensiveness from a single organization.”

UPK’s areas of specialization include express parcel deliveries, scheduled and temperature-controlled transport services as well as health care logistics. These, combined with PostNord’s parcel and pallet services, scheduled overnight deliveries, international mail services, warehousing solutions and e-commerce logistics, form a competitive and comprehensive service package for the logistics markets in Finland.

PostNord acquired Uudenmaan Pikakuljetus from DSV Road Ltd in September of 2015. The deal boosted PostNord’s business by a third.
