PostNord Pallet - Frequently asked questions

PostNord Pallet pallets can be sent to most European countries.

There are four types of pallets:

  • EUR pallet (120 x 80 cm)
  • high capacity pallet (60 x 80 cm)
  • quarter pallet (60 x 40 cm)
  • special pallet (max. 120 x 120 cm)

Pallet-specific size and weight restrictions are described in the PALL.ETT special terms and conditions. Read more about terms and conditions.

Pallets to be sent to EU member countries only require a PostNord Pallet address label. To countries outside the EU, you will also need a commercial invoice or a proforma invoice for customs. You must send a copy of that invoice to tullaus.fi@postnord.com. Read more about customs information.

The goods must be loaded and secured for transport on pallets that are at least 15 cm high and suitable for handling with a truck or pallet truck. The pallet must be bigger than the shipment so that the goods do not protrude over the edges of the pallet. The goods must be attached to the pallet by plastic-wrapping or with bands so that they cannot move or detach from the pallet during transport.

In addition to the consignment note, we also need EDI preliminary information. This is why we recommend using the easy Pacsoft Online shipment management system, which supports our products. Read more about the shipment management system.

The PostNord Pallet service does not include replacement pallets.

Only so-called limited quantities (LQ) of hazardous substances may be shipped. Other restrictions on the nature of shipped goods can be found in the PostNord Pallet special terms and conditions.

Yes, the pallets can be sent to private persons, and in this case we call the recipient when the goods arrive at the distribution depot and agree on a delivery time.

The pallets are delivered to receiving companies between 07:00 and 16:00 on weekdays. If necessary, you can order a pre-advice for your PostNord Pallet shipment by calling us. In this case, we call the recipient and inform them of the delivery time. You can also choose a delivery without a proof of delivery. In this case, the shipment is left at the provided address even if the recipient is not present to sign for the delivery. Delivery tracking replaces proof of delivery in these cases.

For business customers, we leave a notification at the first delivery attempt and they can then collect the goods from the depot. We call private persons after the pallets arrive at the distribution depot. If the recipient cannot be reached, the shipment is returned to the sender after fourteen (14) days. In this case, the sender must pay the return freight.
