These parcel lockers are a novelty for Finns, as they can be placed outdoors close to homes and are thus open 24 hours a day for picking up parcels with contactless opening. – Our job is to deliver each parcel so that we can make the recipient's everyday life easier. The Lähiboksi lockers are our latest solution to the challenge that is the last mile, says Johanna Starck, CEO of PostNord.

In addition to minimising the climate impact of parcel deliveries by paying attention to the emissions they cause, it is important to us that picking up parcels is safe for online shoppers. Using Lähiboksi lockers is safe also during epidemics, as they open with a smartphone without physical contact.
The first Lähiboksi lockers have been launched this week in Turku and Tampere, and the network is constantly growing. In the course of 2022, there will be Lähiboksi lockers in 300 locations in Southern Finland. At the same time, PostNord continues to deliver parcels to Pakettipiste and Smartmile’s shared parcel lockers and to pick-up points operating in connection with K-kauppa and R-kioski. PostNord's network covers 2,000 pick-up points throughout Finland.
